Band Supply List

INSTRUMENT ACCESSORIES
It is your responsibility to maintain and care for your instrument, as well as to have the necessary instrument accessories at all times. Please refer to the information below for a complete list of recommended instrument accessories:
  • FLUTE: All flute players need a metal cleaning rod, a silk or cotton cleaning cloth, and a folding music stand for at home practice.
  • CLARINET/SAXOPHONE: All clarinet and saxophone players need a handkerchief style silk or cotton swab, a reed case, at LEAST 3 working Vandoren reeds size 2.5 (6th grade) and 3 (7th/8th grade), and a folding music stand for at home practice.
  • TRUMPET/BARITONE/TUBA: All trumpet, baritone and tuba players need valve oil, tuning slide grease, a cleaning snake, a mouthpiece brush, a washcloth or dish towel, and a folding music stand for at home practice.
  • TROMBONE: All trombone players need slide oil or cream, tuning slide grease, a cleaning snake, a mouthpiece brush, a washcloth or dish towel, and a folding music stand for at home practice.
Students are encouraged to mark their instrument cases with something unique so that they can quickly identify it when making a mad dash for the bus or car lot in the afternoons. Most cases look alike, so putting a ribbon, key chain, or lanyard on the handle of the case, in addition to a name tag complete with student name and phone number greatly decreases the risk of students taking the wrong instrument home at the end of the day.


CLASSROOM SUPPLIES 
  • Band Method Book:
  • Name Tag - This identifies your individual instrument case
  • Black Binder - Black hardback three ring binder (1/2" or 1" spine)
  • Page Protectors - Protects music in the Band Binder (15 - 20 sheets)
  • Pencil Pouch -  Stocked with pencils and kept in Band Binder
  • Performance T-Shirt or Polo  (see Performance Dress Code)
