Playing Test Rubric

Throughout the school-year students are asked to perform exercises that we have focused on in class, to assess their progress and locate areas that need improvement. These assessments can include a challenging excerpt from a piece we are studying or scales we have isolated are practiced during class. Students are evaluated on their performance of specific musical concepts such as: tone, rhythm, note accuracy, articulation, dynamics, pitch, expression/style, phrasing, technique (percussion), and sticking pattern (percussion).
