Students are expected practice their instruments at home to reinforce the concepts and skills they are learning in class. They are also expected to keep track of their practice time with the help of a "Practice Journal." Practice journals help hold students accountable for their work outside of class and are a valuable assessment tool for Mrs. Day.
Students are to turn in a signed practice journal on the first school day of each week accounting for the minutes practiced at home in the week prior. One point is earned for each minute practiced during the week. Instruments are to be practiced at home a minimum of 100 minutes per week. Missed practice journals cannot be made up without making special arrangements with Mrs. Day. Late practice journals will not be awarded full credit. Practice journals MUST have a parent signature to receive full credit.
BLANK practice journals are always available to students in the band room and HERE.
